Music for Dance

Here is the full original recording of my composition ‘DUSK’ - Composed for Joseph Toonga’s new work at the Royal Ballet & Opera house as part of the 2024 Encounters : Four Contemporary Ballets show . I played all the instruments, which include, violin, viola, cello and bass with whammy pedal, synths and soundscape. The track is mastered by Max Harris Projects and the photograph is by Derry Moore.

This is a video excerpt from the ‘Insights: Festival of New Choreography’ at the Royal Opera House, it shows the dancers Marianna Tsembenhoi and Mica Bradbury working on Joseph Toonga’s piece, which has the music that I have written and played. The full performance is currently being performed on the Main Stage in October 2024 at the Royal Opera House.

I worked with London Studio Centre, Images Ballet Company. Here is an excerpt from their film ‘In Perspective’ 2020 made during lockdown. I composed the music using soundscapes.

Here is a video from a workshop we did in which I played Bach Cello Suite while the dancers explored the music and dance relationship with choreography by Louise Bennett.
